Cobra rescued from college

January 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Institute of Management Education in Dilshad Garden, East Delhi, had a surprise visitor on their campus on Friday.

Some students noticed the reptilian on the college premises and contacted the Wildlife SOS rescue helpline.

“The trained team tracked the cobra and carefully restrained the snake and secured it inside a snake bag without cornering or alarming it. The entire incident went uneventful and without causing any danger to the students or the cobra,” said a release issued by Wildlife SOS. The snake was found to be healthy and has been released back in its natural habitat.

Wildlife SOS Kartick Satyanarayan said, “This is a good example of how coexisting with snakes is possible… Ignorance is what causes snakes to be killed or people to get bitten when they attempt to kill a snake.”
