2 teen students shot near high school

Two teenage students were shot in East Williamsburg on Thursday afternoon, less than a block away from a high school that was just letting out, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and a 14-year-old girl was struck in the leg, police said. The boy was the intended target.

Both were transported to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were in stable condition.

The victims, who were not identified, are students at Progress High School for Professional Careers and High School for Enterprise, Business and Technology, which briefly went on lockdown, according to a teacher at the school.

Shots rang out around 2:50 p.m. outside the Crown Grill and Salad restaurant at 802 Grand St. — steps away from Progress.

The male suspect, who is 5-foot- 8 and was wearing a royal-blue puffy jacket and white sneakers, fled eastbound toward Manhattan Avenue. He was still on the lam, cops said Tuesday night.

The Department of Education deferred questions to the NYPD.
