DME seeks affidavits on ‘innocence’ from docs
BHOPAL: Once bitten, twice shy Madhya Pradesh medical education department has asked candidates applying for vacancies of medical officers to file an affidavit declaring they are not involved in any case related to MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.
Directorate of medical education (DME) has recently advertised for 92 vacancies for the post of medical officers and dentists on www.medicaleducation.mp.gov.in.

For the post of medical officer, candidates are required to have MBBS degree from a recognized university or medical institute with MCI registration certificate. While for the post of dentist, candidates must have completed BDS from a recognized university or institute. Applicants would be selected on the basis of their performance in personal interview.
Over 3,000 medical students, who passed out from different government medical colleges of the state are under scanner of special task force (STF) for having used unfair means to clear their exams.
DME has asked candidates to submit an undertaking in an affidavit stating if they are found involved in any such case their appointment would be considered cancelled.
When contacted joint director N M Srivastava said no such clause has been added in the application forms. “Why would we do like that?. There is no such clause in the application form,” said Srivastava, feigning ignorance about the clause put up on department’s official portal.
