BHOPAL: Apparently unhappy over decision to hold a meeting of Barkatullah University (BU) executive council (EC) at Pachmarhi, one member Hemant Katare has lodged a complaint against vice-chancellor MD Tiwari to governor Ram Naresh Yadav. There are 25 members in the university’s EC.
“It is illogical. We are here for students’ welfare. Such unnecessary outings are a sheer waste of time and money of university,” Katare told TOI.

“I do not think that EC will take better decisions by holding meeting in Pachmarhi.”
In its last EC meeting, Tiwari had proposed a change after many members had urged next meeting amid rolling greens of hill station Pachmarhi, sources said.
TOI possesses a copy of the complaint in which Katare categorically requested the governor to direct Tiwari to change his decision. Katare suggested the meeting be organized in the state capital. In recent past, Katare had also objected to nomination of an EC member by Tiwari.
When contacted, registrar Lonu Singh Solanki said, “The decision was taken after a consensus among EC members. We will not conduct any meeting outside the campus if anyone has objection.”
