Gujarat woman kills 3 kids, ends her own life

PALANPUR: A woman allegedly strangled her three children and hanged herself to death in Bayad taluka of Aravalli district on Sunday night. The woman and the children were identified as Munni Nayak (40), Krishan (6), Shaku (4) and Lakhi (2).
Police said that Munni and her husband Arvind had moved to Gadhkampa village in Bayad nine months ago and used to work as farm labourers in Rajendra Patel's field.They are originally from Thanagajjar village in Godhra talkua of Panchmahal district.
Munni was living with her three children alone as Arvind had eloped with another woman about three months ago, said Bayad police sub-inspector V L Patel.
According to Patel, on Sunday night, Munni strangled her three children while they were asleep and then hanged herself with a rope. "Probably depression caused by loneliness led her to take the extreme step," he said, adding that farm owner Patel had informed them about the tragic incident.
