Surveyor hangs himself

C. Kannan (57) of Panjampatti in Dindigul district, the surveyor of Radhapuram taluk office, allegedly hanged himself in the room on the first floor of the taluk office on Monday. Police said on returning from the Pongal holidays, Kannan, who was staying in the room in the first floor of Radhapuram taluk office, went to sleep on Sunday night.

As he did not report for duty on Monday morning and his room remained closed, the office assistant opened the room where Kannan had committed suicide by allegedly hanging himself.

Based on the complaint from tahsildar Shaik Abdul Khader, the Radhapuram police registered a case.
