Lt. Governor, CM greet people

Lieutenant Governor A.K.Singh, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and other political leaders greeted the people of Union Territory of Puducherry on the occasion of Pongal festival.

In a special message, Mr. Singh said the festival marks an important occasion in the lives of Tamil people.

“The gaiety and fervour associated with this festival reflects our rich cultural tradition and is also an occasion to rejoice with family members and the working class to promote the spirit of peace and benevolence among people,” said Mr.Singh.

Dawn of good thoughts

Chief Minister Mr. Rangasamy, in his message, said Pongal marks the dawn of good thoughts and joy with promotion of virtues. Occurrence of Bhogi on the eve of Pongal denotes eradication of evil thoughts and nurturing of fresh ideas for betterment of society.

R. Radhakrishnan, MP, several Ministers, including Tourism Minister P. Rajavelu, MLAs and other political leaders extended their greetings to the people of Puducherry on the occasion of festival.
