The annual bird watching and waterfowl census at the important wetlands in the district, organised by the Social Forestry wing of the Forest Department in association with the World Wildlife Fund-India, will be held on January 24.
Locations identified for the programme are Kandachira, Shakthikulangara, Neendakara, Pallikodi, Vellanathuruthu, Kallada, Karali wetland, Chittumala marshes, and Polachira. The census will be carried out from 6.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Training for the programme will be held at the YMCA hall in the afternoon on January 23.
