Minister for Infrastructure Development R. Roshan Baig on Monday launched work related to widening Anegundi road near Eidgah Maidan in the city.

The Rs. 85 lakh project to widen a 300-m stretch of the road from the existing 8 m to 13 m also involves laying drainage along the road.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Baig urged officials of the Mysore City Corporation to complete the work within the time schedule and ensure quality work is undertaken so that there were no complaints from citizens. For long, residents have been complaining to authorities about the deplorable condition of the road, which is dotted with potholes, leading to collection of stagnant water from the overflowing drain.

Vasu, Chamaraja Assembly constituency MLA; Area Councillor Suhail Baig and residents participated in the programme.
