The Kalasipalya police have registered a case against Congress MLA R.V. Devaraj, his wife, former councillor T.V. Prabhu and five others for land grab.

The complainant, Madhuraj, has alleged that Devaraj and Prabhu created fake documents and usurped prime BBMP property on H. Siddaiah Road.

Madhuraj had alleged that 5,900 sq. ft of land registered in the names of Devaraj, his wife Mamatha Raj, and Prabhu and his wife Jyothi Rani in 2005 is actually BBMP property as the then Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) had acquired the same in 1976.

The land was reportedly acquired from the original land owner M.A. Krishnamurthy to lay a link road between H. Siddaiah Road and Krumbigal Road. Mr. Krishnamurthy was offered an alternate site. However, the link road project was dropped, but the land remained with the BCC, the complaint claimed.

At present, a hotel stands on the land.
