Ramadoss criticises Maneka

PMK leader S. Ramadoss has taken exception to Union Minister Maneka Gandhi’s comments that jallikattu was a western concept, saying her remarks had proved that she had no idea about culture and tradition.

In a statement here, he said while bullfight was a sport culminating in the killing of bulls by the matador, youth in Tamil Nadu tamed the bull for the prizes tied on their horns. “Though I have appreciated her for her stand on cruelty to animals, her statement made me feel sad that we had a minister who no basic understanding of issues.”
