MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. The wage debt to the chief coach of Russia’s national soccer squad, Fabio Capello, will not feature on the agenda of a meeting between the Russian Football Union’s President Nikolay Tolstykh and the President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini, due in Moscow later on Monday.

Earlier, some media claimed that Platini was going to Moscow to look into the RFU’s wage debt to the Italian coach.

Capello and the general manager of Russia’s national team, Oreste Cinquini, have not been paid since June 2014.

A probe by Russia’s federal employment service Rostrud last October and November exposed a 181.5 million rouble debt to the national team’s coaching staff. In the wake of last year’s slump of the rouble’s exchange rate the wage arrears to the Italian specialists have soared to 500 million rubles (about 8 million dollars).

Rostrud then issued orders the wage debt should be settled by January 19. If the instruction is ignored, Moscow’s branch of the federal lalour supervision watchdog will hold an unscheduled inspection of the Russian Football Union. Defiance of Rostrud instructions is punishable with a fine, and the RFU official responsible for wage payments may be disqualified for a period of six months to three years.
