Four killed, three injured in day-break accidents

Four persons were killed and three others injured in two road accidents early on Sunday, even as the city police and the transport officials were busy celebrating the annual road safety week.

NASHIK: Four persons were killed and three others injured in two road accidents early on Sunday, even as the city police and the transport officials were busy celebrating the annual road safety week.
The first accident occurred around 5 am. The deceased have been identified as Rinku Mangalsingh Rodsingh Thakur (35), Irshaad Rafiq Bhutto (32) and Shahrukh Shankar Kakar (40), all residents of Madhya Pradesh.

Assistant inspector of the Adgaon police station Ramesh Valvi said Bhutto and the two others were carrying iron angles in their truck from Mumbai to Dhule, when they rammed another truck parked on the highway near the Adgaon crematorium on the Mumbai-Agra highway. They died on the spot.
Three others who escaped with injuries have been identified as Ganesh Radhelal Wadwal (26), Kalu Mohanlal Adik (21) and Makhan Paniram Dhirubhai (26), all belonging to Devas in Madhya Pradesh.
Wadwal, Adik and Dhirubhai, who were on their way to Indore, realised the truck, loaded with cloth, had developed a snag in their truck loaded with cloth. They decided to halt near the Adgaon crematorium. While they were trying to fix the truck, their vehicle was hit by the other truck.
Wadwal, the truck driver, said they were saved as he had applied the handbrakes and the truck did not move too far after the collision and they got escaped from getting run over by their own vehicle.

The police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against Bhutto, the deceased truck driver.
In another accident near the CBS, an unidentified person of around 60 years was run over by a city bus around 6.45am. The Sarkarwada police said the bus driver, Sandeep Shirsath, was driving rashly while proceeding towards Ashok Stambh from Mumbai Naka and knocked down the person.
Shirsath has been booked on charges of causing death by negligence.
