Miss Lebanon candidate Saly Greige is now under fire and irked netizens angers in Lebanon after a selfie photo of herself with Miss Israel Doron Matalon went viral on social media. The photo which was uploaded by Miss Israel angered some netizens in Lebanon who noted that their representative to the Miss Universe should be stripped of her title.
The selfie photo first surfaced online when the Miss Israel contestant in the Miss Universe posted it on her Instagram account. The photo features Miss Israel candidate Doron Matalon with Miss Slovenia and Miss Japan.
Both Israel and Lebanon are technically at war with each other, although the border has been largely quiet since the 2006 conflict but the Lebanese risk prison if they call or travel to Israel while Israeli products are all banned in Lebanon.
According to Miss Lebanon’s explanation, she has no intention of getting closer to Miss Israel who participated also in the 2014 Miss Universe as they prepared for the coronation night this week in Miami, Florida, USA.
Miss Saly Griege noted on her official Instagram account that Miss Israel Doron Matalon had pestered her for a picture together and finally photobombed her. She noted that she was just having a photo with Miss Japan and Miss Slovenia but suddenly Miss Israel jumped in and took a selfie then uploaded it on social media.
Some of the angry Lebanese citizens already demanded on social media that Saly Greige should lose her title for contacts with a citizen of the enemy state.
