Three paramedics unable to save the life of a young man who committed suicide in Russia's fourth-largest city, Yekaterinburg, early Saturday morning were severely beaten up as they attempted to leave the area, local news site E1 reported, citing police.
The paramedics arrived about a half-hour after the young man had hanged himself in the bathroom of his family's apartment, and a group of the man's friends who came to the scene were none too happy about the explanation that the paramedics could not bring their friend back to life.
The friends — five or six men in their early 20s — beat the paramedics so severely that they knocked several teeth out and the paramedics had to call for police and another ambulance to rescue them, the report said.
The gang allegedly even managed to bash in the windows of the first ambulance as it fled the scene. Police are still looking for suspects. The young man who hanged himself had reportedly gotten into a fight with his girlfriend and locked himself in the bathroom. His family members became worried when he was unresponsive.
