Teenager killed, 4 injured as Maruti car plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Jan 18: A teenaged girl was killed and four others were injured, when the Maruti car, they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge at Natha-Top near Sanasar.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-7526 was on its way to Sanasar from Udhampur, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into gorge at Natha-Top near Sanasar, causing injuries to five occupants of the car.
After getting information, police team from Patnitop police post rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Chenani, where doctors pronounced the teenaged girl identified as Sneha (19), daughter of Ashok Kumar, a resident of District Udhampur as brought dead.
The four injured after first aid at SDH Chennai were referred to District Hospital (DH) Udhampur, where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
The injured have been identified as driver Arun Kumar, son of Sham Lal, Vishal (20), son of Prem Nath, Simran (14), daughter of Sahil Kumar and Shivam (19), son of Puran Chand, all residents of district Udhampur.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
