City-based FIITJEE will conduct a selection test for its ‘Fortunate 40’ programme on February 8.

“Fortunate 40’ was launched in 2008 as part of our endeavour to provide world-class training to meritorious students from economically backward sections. The idea is to encourage them to set high goals in life and achieve them,” P. Ramesh Babu, the local FIIT-JEE centre head told a press conference on Sunday.

The programme supports academically bright students from economically poor background going to classes XI and IX. Their parents’ income should not exceed Rs. 10,000 per month.

Hostel facility

FIIT-JEE will not only grant 100 per cent scholarships to such students but also provide hostel facility free of cost.

A maximum of 40 students will be absorbed in each batch under this programme, said P. Ramesh Babu.
