Rangoli competition adds a touch of colour to Pongal

Rangoli competition for women and sports events for young boys and girls marked the Pongal celebrations organised by the Akkamapettai Puthiya Siragugal Nanbargal Kuzhu near here on Friday. More than 50 women participated in the rangoli competition on the Arulmigu Murugan Temple campus. A team of judges selected the best rangoli patterns. The rangoli of Deva won the first prize of quarter-sovereign. Santhi finished second, while the third prize went to the rangoli of Kanchanamala.

Boys and girls participated in various sports events.

A.Murugan, town panchayat councillor, presided and inaugurated the competitions.
