Kannada cinema, it would seem, is not just a fan of singers from other industries, but composers as well. While Malayali Jassie Gift is a popular name in Sandalwood now, in recent times, imports like Mani Sharma and Anup Rubens have also made their mark. And now, Bollywood composer duo Justin-Uday come to Kannada cinema. The music directors of films like Sikandar and Hijack, who are a popular name in ad circles as well for their jingles, have composed for director Guru Dath’s upcoming film Khaidi. “Uday Ninjoor is a Mumbai-based Kannadiga, and is related to a friend, who suggested that I meet them for my film. I was quite impressed with their body of work and, in fact, it was during our meeting at their studio that I met
Chandini, who makes a comeback to Sandalwood with my film,” says Guru Dath.
For the film, the composers have churned out five tunes, sung by singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Hansika Aiyar, and
Neha Bhasin, among others.
