KATHUA, Jan 17: JKP Kashmir Zone registered a thrilling win by 4 runs over Verma Sports Club (VSC) Chandigarh in an exciting contest at Sports Stadium, here today.
In another match played today, Malik Sports Club Delhi trounced HSIC Jallandhar to advance in the Tournament.
In the first match, J&K Police Kashmir Zone chose to bat first after winning the toss and scored a modest total of 112 runs. Hannan Mir who scored 35 runs off 38 balls was the top scorer, while Umar Nabi contributed 23 runs to the total.
In reply, Verma Sports Club Chandigarh managed to score 108 runs in 19.3 overs, thus J&K Police Kashmir Zone won the match by 4 runs.
Asif of J&K Police team who took 3 wickets in 4 overs giving away 18 runs was declared as man of the match and was awarded with a cash prize pf Rs 1000 and a trophy.
In another match played today, HSIC Jallandhar after winning the toss decided to bat first and scored 124 runs. Aman who scored 44 runs of 37 balls was the top scorer, while Shivam contributed 38 runs to the total.
In reply, Malik Sports Club Delhi scored 128 runs in 19.1 overs, thus won the match by 4 wickets.
Parveen of Malik Sports Club Delhi scored 46 runs of 46 balls and was declared as man of the match. He was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1000 and a trophy.
