Presentation of Spoorthy Awards today

Executive director of Rural Development Trust Anne Ferrer, noted writer Kalipatnam Rama Rao, progressive farmer Goriparthi Narasimharaju Yadav and secretary of Old Students association of Saradaniketanam A. Tejovathy will receive the Spoorthy Awards instituted by Bommidala Srikrishnamurthy Foundation on Sunday.

Governor of Tamil Nadu K. Rosaiah will give away the awards at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Ambati Lakshmana Rao will preside over the meeting. Each awardee would get Rs.3 lakh, a memento and a felicitation certificate. Instituted by Bommidala Srikrishnamurthy in 1996, the trust has been helping students, scholars, teaching institutions, hospitals and other institutions to foster education and health care. The Trust evolved itself as Bommidala Srikrishna Murthy Foundation on June 16, 2012.
