Sex racket busted in Jaunpur, 10 arrested

Varanasi: Jaunpur police on Saturday raided a hotel near VBS Poorvanchal University under Sarai Khwaja police station and busted a sex racket by arresting nine couples and the hotel manager.
According to SP Jaunpur Bablu Kumar, after getting repeated complaints for the past many days, a team comprising of police and administration officials raided A-1 Hotel near the university.When rooms were checked, nine couples were caught in objectionable condition. The arrested youths belonged to Varanasi, Deoria, Sultanpur and Jaunpur districts while the girls belonged to the nearby areas. The hotel manager was also caught. Police also seized 10 motorcycles from the hotel.
Truck driver dies in mishap: A truck driver Ajay Goswami, 32, was killed while cleaner Toofani suffered serious injuries when the truck overturned near Bahuara village under Robertsganj police station in Sonebhadra district on Friday night.
In onother incident, one Rajkumar, 38, of Raipur suffered serious injuries when a pick-up van crushed him near Sauli village under Pannuganj police station in Sonebhadra district on Friday night. Police rushed him to the district hospital where, in view of his serious condition, the doctors referred him to Varanasi. But he died on way to hospital.
Body found: The mutilated body of lekhpal Ashok KUmar Chaubey, 57, was found lying on a railway track between Duddhi and Mahuari railway stations on Satuday morning. Police also recovered his motorcycle near the railway track. Chaubey's family claimed that he was murdered. Police are investigating the matter after sending the body for postmortem.
