Students shine at annual day

The 24{+t}{+h}annual day celebrations of KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential Public School were organised in a grand manner here on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha said that schools should accord priority to social service apart from curricular and co-curricular activities. The children need to inculcate character, leadership and selfless service. The curriculum should help the child in developing his or her skills, she said.

Siddhartha Academy president N. Venkateswarlu, school convener S. Ramkrishna and principal S. Chandrasekharan also spoke.

Ms. Anuradha handed over gold medals, pratibha awards to the students. Krishna house of the school bagged academic championship and overall championship, while Penna house bagged curricular championship. P. Rupesh Kumar secured Velagapudi Ramakrishna Memorial Gold medal and M. Siddhartha bagged Parvataneni Brahmaiah Gold Medal.

Later, the students enthralled the audience with their performances in dance and music. The cultural programmes began with school song — We, the Sun Rays of Siddhartha. Jugalbandi of Kathak, Mohiniattam, Bharata Natyam and Manipuri, folk dances like Sambalpuri Odissi, Punjabi and Rajasthani, Japanese etc dances were some of the dances that evoked good response.
