Lord Lloyd Webber won a golden ticket to success after annual profits were boosted by his Charlie And The Chocolate Factory musical, pictured.

The owner of Really Useful Investments said the new production had helped boost pre-tax profit to £6.2million for the 52 weeks to June 29 in accounts just filed at Companies House. 

Total sales grew 7 per cent to £116million from £106million.

During the year the firm demerged its interests from its copyright business leaving it soley involved with the ownership and management of theatres.

Post demerger the Phantom Of The Opera composer refinanced debt and switched bankers from Bank of Scotland to Sweden’s Handelsbanken.

No dividend was paid but the highest paid director thought to be Lloyd Webber took home £435,000 a fall from the £481,000 the previous year.
