Mihika enters final

Mihika Yadav kept the Indian hope alive as she beat Inci Ogut of Turkey 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in the girls’ semifinals of the ITF grade-2 junior tennis tournament here on Friday.

In the final, top-seeded Mihika will be challenged by seventh-seeded Bunyawi Thamchaiwat of Thailand, who beat Poland’s Wiktoria Kulik in three tough sets.

In the boys’ section, the top two seeds, Yuya Ito of Japan and Alexis Canter of Britain, lost in the singles semifinals, but combined well to beat the same opponents, Alberto Lim of Philippines and Cing-Yang Meng of Chinese Taipei in the doubles final.

The results: Boys: Semifinals: Alberto Lim (Phi) bt Yuya Ito (Jpn) 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-4; Cing-Yang Meng (Tpe) bt Alexis Canter (GBR) 6-4, 6-4.
