Archbishop releases DVD of ’94 operetta on Vaz’s life

SANCOALE: A DVD entitled Goenchem Manik Pri Juze Vaz, was released by the archbishop of Goa and Daman, Filipe Neri Ferrao on the occasion of the feast of St Joseph Vaz held at Sancoale on Friday.
The director of the DVD, Fr Valerian Vaz, said, “In 1994, the seminarians of Rachol had staged a Konkani operetta on the various periods in the life of our beloved Fr Joseph Vaz at the seminary.This was later staged throughout Goa. Although the performance was videotaped, it never saw the light of day. Now, after 20 years, the VHS has been converted into CD format by
Agnelo Lobo.”
Goenchem Manik Pri Juze Vaz, written by Fr Manuel Gomes, is shot in Goan settings with music composed by Fr Bernard Cota. Priced at 200, it will be available for sale across the state. tnn
