Israeli national held with20.6 lakh of LSD

The anti-narcotic cell (ANC) of Goa police arrested an Israeli national at Armbol for illegal possession of a narcotic substance worth over 20 lakh. ANC sources said that Neria Bendavid, 20, a resident of Chapora, was found in illegal possession of 10.3g of LSD liquid worth 20,60,000.

PANAJI: The anti-narcotic cell (ANC) of Goa police arrested an Israeli national at Arambol for illegal possession of a narcotic substance worth over 20 lakh. ANC sources said that Neria Bendavid, 20, a resident of Chapora, was found in illegal possession of 10.3g of LSD liquid worth 20,60,000.
Acting on a tip-off, late Thursday night, ANC sleuths conducted a raid at the Armbol beach and caught Bendavid red-handed.
An ANC officer said that the accused had come to Arambol to strike a deal with a prospective customer.
The ANC officer also told TOI that the accused is not cooperating in the investigation and is not disclosing the location of his residence in Chapora. The accused has told the ANC sleuths that he had arrived in Goa around three months ago, and that his passport is with his friend.
The Israeli national was produced before the judicial magistrate first class, Pernem, and has been remanded to three days in police
custody,
A case has been registered under Section 22(c) of the Narcotics Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. PSI Dinesh Gadekar is the investigation
officer.
