The Centre has asked the Madhya Pradesh Government to provide incentives such as interest-free loan and exemption from entry tax for the proposed Bina refinery expansion.
On January 14, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan put forward the request to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Bina refinery is a joint venture between Bharat Petroleum and Oman Oil Corporation. The companies plan to enhance the capacity from six million tonne per annum to 7.8 mtpa by 2018.
