Boy feeding crows electrocuted in Chennai

A 13-year-old boy who was trying to feed crows was electrocuted when he came into contact with a livewire at Alapakkam in Chennai on Saturday.

CHENNAI: A 13-year-old boy who was trying to feed crows was electrocuted when he came into contact with a livewire at Alapakkam in Chennai on Saturday.
R Vetrivel of Bharathidasan Nagar went upstairs of the house to feed crows, as directed by his father, Rajavel.
After keeping the food on the parapet wall, Vetrivel tried to call the crows by clapping his hands.
As he lifted his hands to clap, he accidentally touched the livewire and suffered electric shock and burns.
Hearing the boy’s cries, his parents rushed to the spot and took him to a nearby private hospital. Later, he was admitted to Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital where he died, police said.
