KDA to provide 565 EWS, LIG flats

KANPUR: Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) will provide as many as 565 flats under Samajwadi Awas Scheme to people soon. The authority will fulfill the dreams of lower income group to live in multi-storeyed buildings.
KDA has started booking of flats in six colonies. There are 238 EWS flats in NRI City Mainawati Marg, (238 EWS and 235 LIG flats), in Mahaveer Cooperative Committee, there are 12 EWS and 12 LIG flats, in Sukhdham Infrastructure Singhpur Kachar (20 EWS and 20 LIG flats), in Tapasya Project Limited, Fazalganj, there will be 14 EWS and 14 LIG flats.
The flats would be allotted on lottery basis which would take place on February 16. The applicants should submit income certificate. A committee would assess their applications and certificates.
Applicants having income of Rs 1 lakh per annum would be entitled for EWS flat upto 25 sq metres worth Rs 3.90 lakhs. If applicant’s income is Rs 2 lakh per annum, then he/she would be entitled for LIG flats having an area of 35 square metres priced at Rs 8.40 lakhs.
The flats would be allotted on installment basis. For EWS, allottees would have to pay 60 quarterly installments with 10% interest till 15 years while for LIG flats, they will have to pay 60 quarterly installments with 15% interest till 15 years.
EWS flats would have one bedroom, a kitchen bathroom & toilet and a little space for sitting. In LIG flat, there would be one bedroom and living room, a kitchen, bathroom & toilet and space in the middle.
