Someone is actually selling ‘frostbit cream’, thanks to Ulster teen’s viral take on the weather

A savvy online seller is cashing in on the buzzword of the week - frostbit.

Ruarí McSorley appeared as a talking head on UTV Ireland this week, throwing in his two cents about the cold weather that has gripped the country.

It wasn’t long before his thick Ulster accent went viral, with news outlets as far away as Japan and America sharing the clip.

The 18-year-old Derry native became an Internet sensation overnight, prompting UTV to follow up with a full interview with the aspiring comic.

The A-level student was incredulous about his new found fame, as he posed with fans for photos.

"Honest to God... it went as far as Japan - overnight! It's mad craic altogether,” he told the nation.

Now, a user on BuyandSell.ie, aptly named ‘John Snow’, is hoping to protect the country from the perils of frostbit ankles.

“Gosh you'd better get some of that there frostbit cream for your hands and feet. Sure Ye wouldn't be long getting frost bit! This here stuff has already made it out of the Free State but honest to God it's even as far as Japan and Pakistan and America overnight,” the seller writes.
