Her debut in Ajnabee (2001) made her an overnight sensation. Later, with Jism she became the nations fantasy. A decade later, this Bong beauty still continues to enchant us. Yes, we’re talking about Bipasha Basu. The actress has done a series of horror films in recent times. But neither is she your typical Ramsay heroine who’d screech in a white nightie, nor has she turned into a blood-thirsting chudail at the midnight’s call.
Bipasha always makes sure she picks the right horror film and with each of them she makes sure she does something different. Let’s take a look at Bipasha’s various roles in horror films…

Raaz – 2002


This Hindi version of the Hollywood flick What Lies Beneath was well accepted by the audience. Bipasha Basu who was a newcomer in 2002 went ahead and took the bold step of staring in a horror film. Bipasha also shared great chemistry with Dino Morea and the music of the film is still remembered.

Raaz 3 – the mystery continues – 2012


10 years later Bips returned to star in the third edition of the Raaz series. Bipasha Basu played a fading actress who resorts to black magic to attain success in her career. She shocked the audiences with her performance and got her a lot of appreciation from the industry. Bipasha was paired opposite Emraan Hashmi for the first time and their steamy liplock was the hottest thing at that point. Sources also claimed that Vikram Bhatt had written this character based on a real actress whom he’d once dated.

Aatma – 2013

Soon after doing Raaz 3, Bipasha picked the same genre again. But despite the fact that this unusual horror film didn’t work at the box-office, it sure gave us the chills. Bipasha Basu played a single mother who fights against a supernatural power (Nawazuddin Siddique) to save her daughter.

Creature 3D – 2014

Gone are the days when the scary factor in our films were old-creaked havelis, blood smacked vampires or white sari clad witches with candles in their hands. Vikram Bhatt tweaked his horror story and got a monster created with the help of VFX and named it Creature. In the film Bipasha Basu tries to save her hotel from the Brahmaraksasa. Pakistani hottie Imran Abbas debuted with the film. Though this import failed to impress us, Bipasha held the film on her shoulders.

Alone – 2015


By now Bipasha Basu can fight supernatural powers bare handed. Alone is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Chaarulatha that starrer Priyamani in twin roles. In Alone Bipasha too will be seen in a double role as conjoined twins. The film has been in news courtesy to her chemistry with co-actor and television hottie Karan Singh Grover. If you’ve seen the teasers, you’d know that this one’s going to be loaded with sex and horror.
