LTA awards S$17m noise barrier installation contract to CKT Thomas
SINGAPORE'S Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded CKT Thomas a S$17 million contract to install 3.5km of noise barriers at nine locations, including tracks in Clementi, Eunos, and Lakeside.
The noise barriers are expected to reduce railway noise levels by five to 10 decibels, and improve the experience of residents living near elevated MRT tracks.
The works are expected to be completed in mid-2017.
LTA's entire railway noise barrier programme - which stretches some 20km - is targeted to be done by 2019.
