sixth victim died after a 50-year-old damar tree collapsed on Sunday onto dozens of visitors at Bogor Botanical Gardens in Bogor, West Java.
The sixth victim, identified as Achmad, 42, had been treated at Sentra Medika Hospital in Cibinong, Bogor, West Java, for three days, and died on Tuesday afternoon, kompas.com reported.
The first five victims were identified as Sarijo, 39, Surjana, 42, Supriyono, 32, Saefulloh, 43, and Rizki, 25.
A number of other visitors were injured and undergoing medical treatment at Vania Sukasari Hospital and Red Cross Hospital in Bogor.
Bogor Botanical Gardens management felled four similar trees located near where the incident occurred following recommendations by the Bogor Police.
'The police asked us to cut down trees around the same age as the one that toppled on Sunday,' Yudhi, an officer, said. (***)
