Two women robbed of cash, valuables

Unidentified thieves robbed two women in separate incidents. At Kotwali, women passengers in an autorickshaw stole cash Rs5,000 from Manashri Rahangdale, 34, a resident of Shivaji Nagar while a woman from Bhandara suffered loss of her purse having cash, gold chain, pan, ATM and Aadhaar cards worth Rs43,500.

NAGPUR: Unidentified thieves robbed two women in separate incidents. At Kotwali, women passengers in an autorickshaw stole cash Rs5,000 from Manashri Rahangdale, 34, a resident of Shivaji Nagar while a woman from Bhandara suffered loss of her purse having cash, gold chain, pan, ATM and Aadhaar cards worth Rs43,500. Rahangdale was travelling in an autorickshaw with two other women from Gandhi Gate, Mahal on Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery took place when the women got down near Mahal and took away Rahangdale’s purse. She filed a police complaint. In other incident, 28-year-old Sheetal Ramteke from Bhandara told Sakkardara police station that the theft took place on January 11 while she had come to attend her sister's wedding at a hall at Reshimbagh Square. She told that she had kept her purse inside a room when an unidentified thief stole it. The purse had cash, gold chain and other things worth Rs43,000.
Youth admits to committing 7 burglaries
Hudkeshwar police have seized 226 gramme gold worth Rs5.85 lakh and two stolen bikes from 19-year-old Kuldeep Singh of Rani Durgawati Square. Singh was arrested at Kinda village, Bela in Nagpur rural on January 5. During interrogation, he confessed to have committed 5 burglaries in Hudkeshwar police station area and one burglary each in Gittikhadan and Nandanvan. Police have also nabbed the jeweller Dnyaneshwar Mundaswar.
Rs40,000 stolen from parked cars in Sitabuldi
Within one hour, unidentified thieves shattered windows of two cars parked under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi police station and robbed cash worth Rs40,000. The first incident was reported by Dr Shruti Paliwal, a resident of Canal Road, Ramdaspeth. She told police that she had parked her car in front of MG house, Civil Line and returned after a few minutes to find the car window shattered and cash 15,000 stolen from her purse kept inside the car. In other incident, Avinash Birde, 45, suffered a loss of Rs25,000 cash. He said that he had parked his car in front of a garment showroom when the thieves shattered his car window and stole the cash.
