MANGALURU: Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB), which was started with the objective of empowering women, opened its 40th branch on Tuesday. The branch was inaugurated by Thulasi Maddineni, CEO, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat. S M Swathi, the bank’s executive director, said the BMB is striving to reach out to rural areas. “The bank has 39 branches in almost all state capitals.The bank will open branches in 20 rural areas.
All the branches are on core banking solution and have onsite ATMs,” she said.
She added that the bank’s internet banking and other technology services are simple and customer-friendly. “Komal Kali, the bank’s unique recurring deposit product for girl children can also be opened through BMB smart banking,” Swathi said, adding that the bank has also developed special products like BMB Parvarish and BMA Annapurna.
She said the bank is actively participating in the Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana and all the branches will conduct financial literacy camps every Saturday.
