Hari Om Mandir welcomes New Year with Ramayan Path

CHICAGO: Hari Om Mandir celebrated the New Year with 24 hour Akhand Ramayan Path starting 11.55 pm on December 31 and ending the next day with the onset of New Year .

Ram Dhun was chanted by the devotees present in the hall with full enthusiasm.
At midnight all the devotees greeted each other and sweets were distributed to all as Prasad by temple priest. Subhash Sharma took the responsibility of the 24 hours Akhand Ramayan Path.

During the course of celebration, the new team for 2015 was announced. Indrajit Sarkar was re-elected as president. Sarkar welcomed all and lauded the services of the Trustee Board Chairman Ayodhia Salwan with a 20 years’ service of excellence award. “We also want to thank Mrs Prem Salwan, Manav Salwan, Ashima Salwan, Meenu Salwan, Manish Salwan for their unconditional support,” he said.

Accepting the ward, Ayodhia Salwan along with his wife Mrs Prem Salwan thanked all “for your helping me with Tan Man aur Dhan which is remarkable. I will never forget your deep love and save the plaque for my memory.”

Talking about the coming year, Sarkar said, “Our Goal for 2015 would be to keep peace and harmony, proceed with projects and numerous other infrastructural changes. Education committee will focus on many exciting programs along with ACT/SAT classes for our youth.”

Hari Om Mandir located in Medinah (a northwest suburb of Chicago) conducts Havan every Sunday followed by Aarti and Bhojan Prasad.

On every first Saturday of the month, the Mandir hosts Devi Jagran from 7-10pm; every Monday Shiv Puja and every Tuesday Hanuman Challia Path. Two priests are available for Poojas, Havan, Kathas etc in the temple and at home.
