Very soon, an RTE anthem may have to be rendered along with the national anthem and State anthem at community meetings or gram panchayat meetings.
In a move to popularise and spread awareness on the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) has introduced a 4-minute anthem on RTE featuring actors Puneet Rajkumar and Radhika Pandit. This will be released by month-end.
The video, which begins with the sound of a school bell and children running inside, aims to attract students to school. It was shot in several schools across Karnataka.
The anthem throws light on various government schemes, including midday meal, Ksheera Bhagya, free uniform and textbook programmes. The video will be cut short for television and radio advertisements, featuring the same actors, by the end of this month.
Adoni Syed Saleem, State Project Director, SSA, said the video aimed to spread awareness on free and compulsory education. This video, conceived by SSA, Karnataka, is similar to the RTE anthem prepared by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, which stars actors Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma.
The actors and film-makers have not asked for remuneration for the video’s shoot.
