Model code covers Pudukottai too

January 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - PUDUKOTTAI:

Officials and cadres of various political parties in the district are in a piquant situation as they face a peculiar phenomenon of the district falling under the provisions of the model of conduct, following the notification of by-election to the Srirangam Assembly constituency.

One single booth at Komangalam village in Iluppur taluk with a voter strength of 1,236 voters falls under the jurisdiction of the Srirangam Assembly constituency. The model code of conduct had been clamped in Tiruchi district following the notification of the bypoll.

“The de-limitation of the Assembly constituency has resulted in the problem,” say official sources.
