A 14-year-old singer from city bagged the first prize in classical singing category of a Global Council of Arts and Culture event held at Singapore recently.

INDORE: A 14-year-old singer from city bagged the first prize in classical singing category of a Global Council of Arts and Culture event held at Singapore recently. Having stood second at the national-level contest held at Pune in May 2014, Daly College student Pratyusha was selected to represent India along with three other singers at the final round of the competition, which was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh.

“For the nationals, participants from 24 states had exhibited their talent. Singers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India took part in the final round. I rendered the music of Raah Durga, which was appreciated by the judges. There were 40 contestants in my category, who rendered different songs of the classical genre,” Pratyusha, a student of Rachna Puranik said.
