BHOPAL: Two people suffered bullet injuries in posh Chuna Bhatti area of state capital on Tuesday evening when masked assailants inside a car opened fire on them. The victims were travelling on a bike. A case was lodged in Chuna Bhatti police station. A property dispute could be crime motive, police said. The injured are in hospital and out of danger, doctors said.
The incident took place adjacent to Kaliasot canal near Chuna Bhatti police station where retired IPS officers and businessman reside.

Buddh Bhushan, 50, and Sheikh Anwar, 24, both residents of Rishi Nagar near Char Imli were on a bike when they were intercepted and shot at. One of the six people from a car opened fire on them.
The duo was rushed to JP Hospital and later referred to a private hospital. Police said Sheikh suffered injuries on his waist while Buddh Bhushan sustained bullet injuries in thigh.
Bhushan is a retired government employee and runs an NGO while Sheikh Anwar owns a meat shop.
Officials said Sheikh Anwar claimed the owner of a plot adjacent to his property is the suspect. There's a running feud over the approach road. The matter is pending in court since 2012, police said.
Buddh Bhushan and Sheikh Anwar went to the disputed plot in the evening. From there, they went to meet a former DGP, but he was not at home. The duo was returning when they were attacked. No arrests have been made yet.
