Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Prasanna Prasanna, Yashpal Sharma and Waman Kendre are some of the theatre personalities who will attend the upcoming National Theatre Festival to be organised by Minerva Repertory Theatre and Minerva Natyasanskriti Charchakendra — both having patronage of the state government.

The nine-day festival beginning January 17 will also witness performances from state personalities including Manoj Mitra, Sohini Sengupta, Ashok Mukhopadhyay and Meghnad Bhattacharya.
In all, 14 plays will be staged that include Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai by Anupam Kher, Krishan Vs Kanaiya by Paresh Rawal, Koi Baat Chaley by Yashpal Sharma, Parobass by Manoj Mitra and Ke by Bratya Basu. “The government is ready to offer help to the promotion of theatre. This festival is an effort to elevate the stature of Bengali theatre,’’ said Bratya Basu, Chairman of Minerva Repertory and state Tourism Minister.
