Baby: Meet the five baddies from Neeraj Pandey’s film
Baby, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Shital Bhatia, promises to be an action-packed ride that has been shot across locations like Kathmandu, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai and Delhi.
The film, said to redefine the action-thriller genre in India, is set against the backdrop of international terrorism and has been conceived as a no-nonsense entertainer.

The movie is spearheaded by the super combination of filmmaker Neeraj Pandey and superstar Akshay Kumar, who plays an officer of the elite Indian counter intelligence unit on a covert mission. Since the launch of the promo, two things happened. Besides Akki, the villains of this espionage thriller also became a talking point. And the baddies of Baby are not your regular over-the-top mainstream Bollywood villains. These guys, with their plotting and scheming, are said to be fanatical, who have no value for human life.

The ensemble of villains is led by actor Rashid Naz, who essays the role of Maulana Abdul Rahman, mastermind and founder of one of the deadliest and most active fundamentalist terror groups across the world. Known for his fiery speeches and ability to instigate the youth, Maulana is on the most wanted lists of FBI, Interpol and the Indian agencies. And this time, he has trained his guns to cause major harm to India. His second in command is Bilal Khan, played by
Kay Kay Menon. Deadly and dangerous, Bilal is the key operative of the terror outfit. Adding to the intensity that Kay Kay showcases as an actor is the talented Sushant Singh. He portrays the character Wasim Khan, who is an overseas handler for the outfit. Then there’s Jameel Khan as Taufeeq and debutant Karan Gupta, who plays Jamal.
On his ensemble cast of villains, Neeraj says, “The threat of danger is directly proportional to the intelligence and might of villainous minds. Right from the script stage, each of these anti-heroes had a strong reason for being there. I am glad that they are making an impact with the audience and increasing their curiosity to see them on screen.”
Baby, presented by Gulshan Kumar and produced by T-Series, Cape Of Good Films, Friday Filmworks and Crouching Tiger, releases January 23.
