Sanjjanaa has a paranormal experience

Sanjjanaa has a paranormal experience
Horror films have always been a dicey area for actresses. Most of them confess that they’re scared of ghosts and would rather be happy watching a fun film. And this has more often than not played on their minds when they shoot for a horror tale. Multi-lingual actress Sanjjanaa, who is doing the horror film Shhh, admits that she got bogged down with the idea of shooting for a scary film to such an extent that she got a nasty headache and could feel the ‘presence of others’ even when alone.
“It was mentally exhausting, which is why I am now a little apprehensive about returning to the second schedule of shooting. It is a great role and a film, no doubt, but this genre can make one feel paranoid when not filming,” she says.
Interestingly, Sanjjanaa’s not the first actress to confess to being victim to a paranormal presence while on a film set. Bipasha Basu, who calls herself a horror film specialist, considering the number of films in the genre that she has done, has admitted that she once felt suffocated in a room, when shooting for a film in Mumbai’s Mukesh Mills.
Closer home, the making of the Apthamithra series has tales of the Nagavalli curse. Nagavalli, the name of the spirit in the film, is believed to be quite powerful, which has been associated with mishaps on the set. While late actress Soundarya, who succumbed to an air crash after shooting for this film, had reportedly complained of eerie feelings while on the set, Vimala Raman, who acted in the sequel titled Apthamithra, has admitted that she had paranormal experiences with spirits attacking her during the making of the film.
One isn’t sure whether this is the mind playing over logic, making actresses believe that there are supernatural experiences that they go through. But, it surely seems like these actresses have tales to reiterate why horror isn’t such a preferred genre.
