Yoga guru Paramahamsa Yogananda went around the world popularising yoga, he also spent time with eminent persons like Mahatma Gandhi and Ramana Maharshi.

These are some of the stories narrated by 90 exhibits put up at the fortnight-long photo exhibition on the life and times of iconic yoga guru that began on Sunday at Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan.

The exhibition, being organised by Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Visakhapatnam, to mark the 121st birth anniversary of the yoga guru, which was on January 5, takes us through his life.

Author of the spiritual classic ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’, Paramahamsa Yogananda was hailed as father of yoga in the West during his time. He was perhaps the only Hindu spiritual master who gave masterly authoritative interpretations of three of the world’s major scriptures from three different religions -- the Bhagavad Gita of the Hindus, the Christian Bible and the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam of the Sufi Islam -- managing trustee of Tarakeswara Foundation Sehdev Singh said.

The exhibition would be on through the three-day Visakha Utsav at Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
