Temple fete begins

The 10-day annual festival of Sree Parthasarathy Temple on the banks of the Pampa at Aranmula began with the ritualistic Kodiyettu ceremony on Monday.

A ceremonial procession carrying flowers for the Pushpabhishekom ritual at the temple was taken out from the Vilakkunmadom temple at Edayaranmula in the morning.

Temple chief priest (Tantri) Kalidasan Bhattathiripad of Kuzhikkattu Illom performed the rituals in connection with the Kodiyettu. The Tantri hoisted the ceremonial flag in the auspicious ‘muhurthom’ between 11.40 a.m. and 12.15 p.m.
