IUML against communalism: Kunhalikutty

January 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:09 am IST - Kozhikode:

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader and Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty on Sunday said the IUML had always fought against majority and minority communalism.

The party had worked hard to safeguard secularism, he said, inaugurating a meeting organised at the Town Hall here in connection with the Yuvakerala Yatra planned by the Muslim Youth League (MYL).

The MYL plans to take out the campaign upholding the slogan ‘a secular Kerala against Communalism’ in March this year.

Mr. Kunhalikutty said the campaign slogan was the need of the time. “Whatever achievement Kerala as a State has gained today is the result of the unity between the communities here,” he said.
