3 killed, 10 hurt as truck hits vehicles in Ratlam

A truck loaded with cement pillars rammed a vehicles near a goddess temple in Shivgarh area of Ratlam district on Monday evening, killing three people, including a teenage boy. Ten others, were injured.

INDORE: Freak accident took place at around 5pm on Ratlam-Banjana road (135 km from Indore), just 100 meters from the Rajpura Mata temple.
Primary investigations revealed the truck’s steering developed a technical snag due to which the driver lost control of the vehicle. Truck bearing an Indore registration number subsequently rammed into a series of vehicles, matador and three motor cycles on the road.

Shivgarh police station in charge OP Sharma, three persons, including two men aged between 30 and 35 and a 14-year-old boy died instantly after their vehicles was hit by the truck. Injured were rushed to Ratlam Civil Hospital, where some of them are stated critical.
Efforts are underway to identify the dead. Truck driver, meanwhile, escaped from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind, Sharma said.
