6-yr-old raped, killed by teen

BEHRAMPORE: A six-year-old was allegedly raped and killed by her teenaged neighbour at Arjunpur village in Farakka on Sunday.
A court ordered 4-day police custody for the accused. The girl’s father said: “He used to visit our house and my daughter used to call him uncle.”
Police said the accused has confessed to the crime. “The accused said he lured the child to an under-construction building with chocolates and raped her.He then crushed her head with bricks,” said police.
Teacher kills self in jail: An under-trial and former teacher-in-charge of a primary school in Howrah’s Bagnan was found hanging inside his jail cell at Uluberia sub-divisional correctional home on Monday. The body was sent for postmortem.
Prasanta Adak was arrested in September for allegedly attempting to rape a girl of Class IV from his school.
