On 12th January, 2012, AC Milan confirmed the signing of Sulley Muntari on loan from city rivals Inter for the rest of the 2012-13 season.
Inter signed Muntari from Portsmouth in 2008 for a fee of €14 million but the player never came close to justifying his price tag and was repeatedly linked with a move to Napoli and Galatasaray however it came as a big surprise when AC Milan pounced in to sign the player on loan, before he later signed a permanent deal in June.
The Ghanaian only made four Serie A appearances for Inter Milan in the first half of the 2012-13 season, hence his move was necessary to make him gain much playing time.
Muntari played part role in the Inter Milan set up which won the treble-Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Uefa Champions League-in 2010.
The 30-year-old midfielder has since been a regular player in AC Milan's scheme of things, scoring thirteen (13) goals in seventy five (75) games.
